PAST DUE! Did You Know This?
Air purification systems – Do you want one? Do you need one? Have you done maintenance on the one you have?
Ever since COVID-19, we have been installing air purification systems for many of our customers. If you replaced your HVAC system with Rostron Premium Home Services in the last four years, it’s more than likely that we installed air purification equipment. We install brands like Air Scrubber, REME Halo, and APCO. These brands are different in some ways, but ultimately, they purify the air of contaminants.
WHY INSTALL AIR PURIFICATION?
These air purification systems like an Air Scrubber, can kill a variety of harmful particles, including:
Viruses: Some Air Scrubbers can reduce viruses in the air and on surfaces. The Aerus air Scrubber uses UV light waves and a catalytic process to kill viruses. Tuberculosis, Streptococcus, MRSA, Bird Flu, Legionella, Listeria, and more can be killed as they pass through your air ducts.
Bacteria: Air Scrubbers can kill bacteria that cause odors.
Mold and dust: Air Scrubbers can remove mold spores and dust mites.
VOCs: Air Scrubbers can remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that create odors like smoke.
Allergens: Air Scrubbers can reduce allergens like pollen and pet dander.
These air purification systems can also:
Disinfect surfaces like countertops and doorknobs
Extend the life of your HVAC system by preventing debris buildup
Remove odors from cooking, smoking, and pet dander
IMPORTANT: These systems require maintenance. We have recently discovered our customers are unaware they need maintenance on these systems every two years. If you have had one installed with us or by a different company, it’s time for Rostron Premium Home Services to take a look. It’s important to us your equipment is operating properly.
Our technicians will do the following during a maintenance:
#7. Clean filters: Regularly clean or replace filters to prevent dust, debris, and pollutants from reducing the air scrubber’s effectiveness. The frequency depends on the type of filter, but HEPA filters typically need to be replaced every 6–12 months, while electrostatic and activated carbon filters may need to be replaced monthly.
#6. Check for leaks: Inspect hoses, connections, and seals for wear or damage.
#5. Clean the exterior: Wipe down the housing with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime.
#4. Check the power cord: Regularly check the power cord for damage, cuts, or frays.
#3. Check the fan blade: If the machine is vibrating, the fan blade may be dirty or bent.
#2. Log data: Log data from the air scrubber system to identify any irregularities.
#1. IMPORTANT: Replace the UV light bulb: technicians have these bulbs right on their truck. Without the UV light bulbs, the air purification systems will not do its job.
